April 2026 Newsletter

April, 2026

We had a great turnout at our April 14 WISE meeting with 16 members in attendance. Carey kicked things off with a fun icebreaker where we shared our first jobs before introducing what we do now. It was a great reminder of how far we’ve come. Our speaker, Suzanne Mills of Sort It, shared simple, practical tips to help tackle clutter and reduce stress in our homes. A special thank you to Nicole for leading the social media class fundraiser in late March. We raised $150 thanks to her time and expertise, and to the members who attended. We also hosted our Kendra Scott Give Back event on April 18th, and while we’re still waiting on final numbers, it felt like a strong success. Thank you to Christine Hillis, Nicole Serralta, Carey Erff, and Jennifer Scroggins for representing WISE with me in-store, and to everyone who shopped online or helped spread the word. We’ve added several new events to the calendar, so be sure to check out the upcoming events section below. A couple to note: our scholarship award social in July, along with a fun pool party in place of our regular July meeting. We’re looking forward to a full and exciting season ahead. Warm regards, Christine Moreau

Welcome our new members!

So far in 2026, we’ve welcomed two new WISE members and we’re so excited to have them in our community. Please join us in welcoming Stephanie Mepouyi, a CPA, and Alaina Kroes, a registered clinical psychologist. Be sure to connect with them on social media and keep them in mind when you’re giving referrals. Let’s continue to support one another by thinking of all our WISE members when opportunities come up. If you see them at the next meet up, take a moment to introduce yourself and help make them feel truly welcomed.

💸Scholarship Fundraisers!

I wanted to share a snapshot of where we are on our fundraising. Kendra Scott giveback just in…$336.91! This tracker will be updated on our website as numbers keep coming in!

🐓🏓Chicken N Pickle Give Back Brunch

Our Chicken N Pickle Giveback Brunch is happening April 26 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and this is one you won’t want to miss. It’s a fun, family-friendly spot, so bring your kids, your spouse, and your friends. There are free lawn games for everyone to enjoy, and we’ll even have a pickleball court reserved just for our group so you can jump in and try it out at no cost. 10% of all food sales during our event will go directly back to support our scholarship fund, so just by showing up and grabbing a bite, you’re making a difference. Let’s make this one count. The more people who attend, the greater the impact we can make. Invite your people, share the event, and come ready for a great time. Can we count on you to be there? Let’s keep the momentum going and continue building something special together.

🎨Art Z Paint Night Fundraiser

Join us for a fun and creative Paint Night fundraiser on May 1 from 6–8 PM at Art Z in Trophy Club. Neelu has generously donated her time, talent, and space, and we would love to max out her space for this special event. Tickets are $40 per person, which includes all paint supplies and a contribution to the WISE scholarship fund. It’s BYOB, so grab your girlfriends and make it a night out. Advanced ticket purchase is required, so be sure to secure your spot through the QR code below or on our website and help us spread the word.

🧩Bingo Fundraiser

Our Bingo Fundraiser is coming up on June 14 from 4–6 PM at Chicken N Pickle Grapevine and this has the potential to be one of our biggest scholarship fundraisers yet. Tickets are $25, and every dollar from ticket sales goes directly toward the WISE scholarship fund. To make this event a success, we’re inviting each member to take on a simple challenge: help us by selling five tickets each. Whether it’s friends, family, or clients, every ticket sold brings us closer to our goal and makes a real impact. We’re also collecting prizes for our 10 bingo games, plus a few extras for ties. If you haven’t been able to participate in other fundraisers, this is a great way to contribute. Gift certificates for your services, restaurant gift cards, or a fun themed basket are all wonderful options. And finally, we’ll need a few volunteers the day of the event to help everything run smoothly. If you can lend a hand, we’d love your support. Let’s come together and make this one count. Tickets can be shared and purchased with the below link or QR code. And these will be added to our website as well.

👚T-shirt Fundraiser

Our Bonfire campaign is one of those fundraisers that keeps going as long as we keep sharing it, and that’s what makes it so powerful. If you haven’t grabbed a shirt yet, this is a great time to do it. And when you do, wear it to WISE events or out in the community. It’s an easy way to spark conversations and show people what we’re building together. WISE is all about supporting small businesses while dreaming bigger, and this is one simple way to be part of that. Keep sharing the link with your friends, family, clients, and networks. Every share gets us one step closer to supporting our next scholarship recipient. Thank you for continuing to show up and spread the word.

Did you know⁉️

If you’re unable to attend or participate in our fundraising events, you can still make a meaningful impact. Donations to the WISE scholarship fund are always encouraged and truly appreciated. Another great way to support is by donating a prize for our upcoming Bingo fundraiser. If you’d like to contribute, please reach out to Christine (817-938-7029) to arrange your donation. When we each give in the ways we can, it lightens the load and allows us to create an even greater impact together. Every contribution brings us one step closer to supporting a deserving female student in the DFW area.

🎗️Don’t forget to do your 1 in 1’s.

Don’t forget to prioritize your 1:1s. This is one of the things that truly sets WISE apart. We’re not just networking, we’re building real relationships. These conversations create connection, trust, and opportunities you won’t find in a group setting alone. If a meeting gets canceled, don’t let it fall off. Circle back and get it rescheduled. Consistency here matters, and it’s a big part of the impact we’re creating together. And while you’re at it, snap a quick selfie during your meetup and share it on your social media. It’s a simple way to show your network what you’re doing with WISE and help grow our community. Be sure to use #wisewomendfw, and if you’re posting on Instagram, tag @wisewomendfw so we can see and share it too.

📲Follow WISE on Instagram!

WISE is continuing to grow on Instagram, and it’s quickly becoming a space where we share our mission, highlight our events, and show the real impact we’re making together. If you’re not following along yet, now’s the time. And when you see a post, don’t just scroll by. Like it, drop a comment, and share it to your stories or page to help us reach more people and expand our community. When you share, be sure to use #wisewomendfw so we can see it, celebrate it, and keep building that visibility together.

🎤Seeking Guest Speakers

Our monthly speakers are always a highlight. These moments give us the opportunity to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and showcase the incredible strengths within our community. Whether you are teaching us something new, sharing helpful advice, or giving us a glimpse into the heart behind your business, your voice brings so much value to the room. Each speaker helps our group grow through shared knowledge, referrals, and authentic connection. We are currently booking speakers for 2026 and still have 3 fall spots available (Sept, Oct, Nov). If you have been thinking about stepping into this role, consider this your nudge. We also invite you to check out our new and improved website, where you can easily sign up and claim your month using the link below. We would love to spotlight you and the expertise you bring to our community.

📣Seeking new members‼️

Membership in WISE is intentional, and so is the way we grow. We are always looking to welcome women who are aligned with our mission, our values, and the heart behind what we are building together. This is not traditional networking, it is a community rooted in purpose, connection, and supporting one another at a high level, both personally and professionally. As we continue to grow, we want to be clear about the process of becoming a member. All prospective members must be nominated by a current member in good standing or by a member of the board. Because WISE is a profession-specific and thoughtfully curated organization, every nomination is reviewed and approved by the board to ensure alignment and protect the integrity of our community. Moving forward, nominations will be submitted using the form linked below. Once a nomination is received, a board member will reach out to the potential candidate and invite her to attend our monthly information gatherings to be held after our board meeting. This is an opportunity for her to learn more about WISE, experience the heart of our group, ask questions, and better understand the expectations of membership. It also allows us to get to know her and ensure it is a mutually beneficial fit. If it feels like the right next step for both sides, we will extend an invitation for her to attend the following week’s meeting. From there, we move forward with intention, ensuring every woman who joins adds to the strength, support, and purpose that makes WISE so special. Open categories for membership that would be a great addition to our community: home and car insurance, flooring, medical, pool, pest, estate planning, notary, foundation, bakery, med spa, dermatology, chiropractor, functional medicine, physical therapist, gym, brow/lash, landscaping, social media manager, graphic designer, boutique owner, florist, catering If someone comes to mind who would be a great fit for this community, we encourage you to submit a nomination using the link below.
